BASIC POSITION
ACAS has power to issue Codes of Practice under TULRCA 1992 s.199 "containing such practical guidance as it sees fit for the purpose of promoting the improvement of industrial relations" (see CODES OF PRACTICE ).
It has issued three Codes of Practice. They are:-
- on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures (CoP 1), a new version of which is effective from 1st October 2004. A May 2008 draft revised version of the ACAS CoP on Discipline and Grievance is available on the ACAS website.
- on Disclosure of information to trade unions for collective bargaining purposes (CoP 2).
- on Time off for trade union duties and activities (CoP3). This includes guidance on time off for Trade Union Learning Representatives (see notes at Time off work/learning representatives ).
