a solicitor who is discussing with court officials whether a particlular court order is susceptible of appeal must, after the lapse of a reasonable period without satisfaction, either insist that the application be put before the court or go back to the judge with the order and ask him to put it into a form so that an appeal can proceed. If he fails to do so then, unless the chances of success of the appeal are virtually irresistible, an application to extend time for lodging an appeal will normally be refused.
