    Authority for the propositions that:-

    1. for a worker to be able to make what used to be called a "Wages Act claim" (ie a claim for unlawful deduction from wages) he must have a legal, but not necessarily contractual, entitlement to the amount which he claims was deducted.
    2. the requirement that justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done requires that if one party to a dispute is allowed to call evidence the other party should also be allowed to do so.
