    NOTES

    This is a list of some of the more useful EC related addresses and telephone numbers.

    Solicitors can obtain EC/EU information from the Law Society's Library (020 7320 5946) and Barristers from the Temple Library (020 7427 4830), both available to members ONLY. There is an internet "gateway to European information for the UK regions" at www.europe.org.uk/info.

    The Law Societies of England & Wales and of Scotland have a joint office in Brussels at Boulevard du Regent, Laan 58, 1000-Brussels (tel: (00) 322 743 8585 and fax: 00 322 743 8586).

    Users may also be interested in SOLVIT, described as "an on-line problem solving network in which EU Member States work together to solve without legal proceedings problems caused by the misapplication of Internal Market law by public authorities".

    4.. There are 44 European Documentation Centres (EDCs),< mainly in university libraries, around the UK.

    There are also three EC Depository Libraries (DEPs), the main one being at the British Library Document Supply Centre, Boston Spa, Wetherby, W. Yorks LS23 7BQ (01937-546 000). The others are at Westminster Central Reference Library, London and at the Liverpool and District Scientific, Industrial and Research Library. DEPs receive all official EC/EU published documentation.
