NOTES

  • The Maternity and Parental Leave etc. Regulations 1999 SI 1999/3312 were made on 10th December 1999 and came into force on 15th December 1999.
  • The regulations were amended with effect from 10th January 2002 by the Maternity and Parental Leave (Amendment) Regulations 2001, SI 2001/4010
  • The regulations were further amended with effect from 24th November 2002 by the Maternity and Parental Leave (Amendment) Regulations 2002, SI 2002/2789
  • The regulations are further amended by the Maternity and Parental Leave etc. and the Paternity and Adoption Leave (Amendment) Regulations 2006, SI 2006/2014 (these 2006 amendments have effect only in relation to employees whose expected week of childbirth begins on or after 1st April 2007 - see reg 2(1) of SI 2006/2014).
  • The Maternity and Parental Leave etc. and the Paternity and Adoption Leave (Amendment) Regulations 2008, SI 2008/1966 came into force on 23rd July 2008 and have effect in relation to employees whose expected week of childbirth began or after 5th October 2008.
