    NOTES

    Employment Tribunals Act 1996 s.6 is entitled "Conduct of hearings".


    Part I of the Arbitration Act 1996 does not apply to proceedings before an Employment Tribunal (ETA 1996 s.6(2) and Arbitration Act 1996, sch 3 para 62).

    Voluntary but binding arbitration is available through ACAS as a general alternative to Employment Tribunal hearings in certain cases (see Arbitration/ACAS new scheme ).
