The following are notes on some of the significant amendments made to the Bill as it progressed through parliament and government statements relating to it. This note was prepared in July 1999, before the Bill had become law and is retained here as it may be of continuing interest.

As this program is concerned with individual employment law these notes omit most material relevant to trade union and collective employment law. In particular amendments concerning the role of the Central Arbitration Committee are not covered.
