the EAT decision noted below was subsequently held to be wrong by the House of Lords in Watt (formerly Carter) v Ahsan HL 2007 (on 21st November 2007), reported at [2008] ICR 82 and [2008] IRLR 243. The House of Lords ruled that the Labour Party was not a body which can "confer an authorisation or qualification" under Race Relations Act 1976 s.12.
