Representation:-
in order to exercise the statutory right to take time off work to look after a dependant Employment Rights Act 1996 s.57A the section requires the employee to tell his or her employer the reason for absence but there is no continuing duty on the employee to update the employer as to the situation; and
Sets out considerations to be taken into account:-
when considering whether a dismissal is automatically unfair under the provisions concerning the right to take time off work for dependants.
