The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2004, SI 2004/2989 was made on 10th November 2004 and applies where the appropriate date falls on or after 1st February 2005. Main changes include an increase in the cap on a week's pay relevant for several tribunal awards from £270 to £280 and an increase in the maximum unfair dismissal compensatory award from £55,000 to £56,800
As there is no statutory cap on the amount a tribunal can award in discrimination cases the Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2004 does not cover them.
