    The purpose of this Bill is to make 23rd April (St George’s Day) a bank holiday in England, or if 23rd is a Saturday, the previous Friday and if 23rd is a Sunday the following Monday.

    This will be done if the Bill is passed by making an appropriate amendment of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971
