• a communal lift in an office building is "work equipment" for the purposes of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, SI 1998/2306;
  
• an employee who is leaving an office to go home after work is still "at work" within the meaning of those regulations;

with the combined result that an employee who suffered injuries when the door of an office lift shut on her hand could bring a claim for damages against her employer, an occupier of the building, notwithstanding that she was on her way home from work at the time of the accident.
