in a redundancy situation if an express offer and an express acceptance of a trial period of alternative employment is made pursuant to ERA 1996 s.138 an employee who decides not to continue with the alternative must give notice of termination within the four week period provided for by that section if he or she is to preserve entitlement to statutory redundancy pay.
