A new general power is given to employment tribunals where a discrimination or harassment claim has been successfully made. The new power is to make a recommendation that the employer should take steps, to be specified by the tribunal, for the benefit of the employer's workforce generally "for the purpose of obviating or reducing the adverse effect of any matter to which the proceedings relate", separately from or as well as making recommendations for the benefit of the individual complainant.
