in deciding what period of notice it is reasonable for an employer to give to terminate an employement contract where the contract itself is silent on the point, due note should be taken of the seniority of the employee and of other factors such as the length of service completed when notice was given and the newness or otherwise of the employing venture. However the financiial state of the employer is irrelevant in deciding what period of notice would be reasonable.
