Further Leave to Remain (FLR) is a generic term used to describe any visa that is issued from within the UK by the UK Border Agency. In almost all situations, individuals who wish to apply for Further Leave to Remain must have a valid visa for the UK and be present in the UK when applying.

For practical advice on work permit and immigration matters, we recommend contacting the independent UK Work Permits Ltd consultancy of Hammersmith, West London (tel 0845 226 4030) whose help in preparing this note is gratefully acknowledged.
