The Court of Appeal tries to clearly define the scope of discrimination on the grounds of religious belief, making clear the distinction between action taken on the grounds of belief, as against that taken on the basis of how a person chooses to manifest their belief. It also makes clear that a particular viewpoint - such as refusing to counsel same sex couples - will not acquire automatic legal protection simply because it is based in a religion.
