Anderson v George S Hall Ltd - Solicitor's error and extension of time limits [2006] EAT

Ms Anderson's solicitor filed her claims 14 days out of time because he failed to realise that the "automatic extension of time rules" (introduced on 1st October 2004 to assist in grievance cases) do not apply where the grievance is that the employer has dismissed the employee, even though the claim may be one of unlawful sex or race discrimination.

The Watford Employment Tribunal refused to allow Ms Anderson an extension of time and she appealed.
