Archer v Department for Constitutional Affairs - Automatically unfair dismissal by reason of defective procedures [2007] EAT
Ms Archer worked as Deputy Chief Clerk in the Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court from August 1993 until March 1995 when she took maternity leave. Apart from 2 days in 1996 she never worked again. Her employment officially ended in October 2004. She then claimed unfair dismissal, direct and indirect sex discrimination and breach of contract. These claims were all dismissed by the London Central employment tribunal.
