Ms Atkins appealed the finding of a three-person Employment Tribunal chaired by Employment Judge Harper in favour of her previous employer following a claim for constructive unfair dismissal and sex discrimination. Castaways (Mr Chippy) Ltd denied that Ms Atkins was treated unfairly as a result of a pregnancy and a number of other allegations that were said to have formed the reasons for her resignation. Ms Atkins was represented throughout by her partner.
