Bailey v R&R Plant (Peterborough) Ltd - potentially invalid notice under statutory requirements of retirement procedures (now repealed).

The now-repealed statutory retirement procedures under the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 require that, when an employer gives written notice of its intention to retire an employee, that written notice specifically explains to the employee the mandatory requirements to be incorporated into any written request to be kept on that he makes in response. In particular this includes the requirement that the request expressly state the provisions within the Regulations under which it is made.
