Bateman & Others v Asda Stores Ltd - contract entitled employer to unilaterally amend pay scheme

Where a term in a Staff Handbook allowing an employer to unilaterally amend pay and other conditions is incorporated into employees' contracts, it means what it says.  The employer can change pay and hours without express consent of staff provided that the change is effected in a way which does not breach trust and confidence.
