Bell v The Governing Body of Grampian Primary School - Behaviour before the tribunal can evidence conduct contributing to dismissal EAT
Mr Bell was dismissed from his job as a teacher at Grampian Primary School. An employment tribunal found that he had been unfairly dismissed, mainly due to procedural errors by the school. Under Employment Rights Act 1996 s.123, the tribunal reduced Mr Bell's compensation by 75% due to his conduct which had, in its view, contributed to his dismissal. Mr Bell appealed against the reduction.
