BP plc v Elstone (1) Petrotechnics (2) - whistleblowing claims can straddle employments

A worker can complain of suffering a detriment by reason of making a protected disclosure even though the disclosure was made whilst he was working for a previous employer.


Mr Elstone had a long and senior career in the petro-chemical industry. He had worked for BP for many years but was employed by Petrotechnics from February 2006 until June 2008. BP was one of Petrotechnics clients.
