Cambridge Housing Society v Anwar - Unfair dismissal ruling upheld [2007] EAT

Mrs Anwar, a night nurse at a care home for the elderly, won a claim for unfair dismissal when widespread changes were proposed to her terms and conditions of employment. She was dismissed as she refused to accept the changes mainly because they would involve a substantial (10%) reduction in her pay. There was inadequate consultation but the employer argued that there had been "some other substantial reason" for the dismissal within the meaning of ERA 1996 s.98(1)(b).
