If further, crucial, information is received after the time limit for claiming unfair dismissal has expired, and that information genuinely and reasonably causes a claimant to now believe they have a valid claim where previously they did not, it is open to an employment tribunal to allow an extension of time for making the claim on the basis that it was not reasonably practicable to have presented the claim in time.
