City to appeal Catholic school teacher ruling - Glasgow Evening Times - 20.4.06

In March 2006 an atheist maths teacher, David McNab, won £2,000 in a case in the Glasgow employment tribunal after he had been prevented from applying for promotion at a Catholic school. The claim was made both under the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 SI 2003/1660and also under the European Human Rights Convention Articles 9 (Freedom of thought, conscience and religion) and 14 (Prohibition of discrimination).
