Cumbria County Council v Carlisle-Morgan - Employer's vicarious liability for detriment following protected disclosures [2007] EAT

Mrs Carlisle-Morgan was employed by Cumbria Council to provide support at a residential home in Kendal for two men with severe learning difficulties. She made a number of allegations about the way in which one of the men was being treated by a fellow worker, Mrs Horsman. The allegations prompted confrontations between the two women and both were eventually suspended on full pay pending a disciplinary investigation.
