Deman v Owen and University of Sheffield - Reasons in victimisation/race discrimination case [2006] EAT

Mr Deman is a persistent litigant (he is subject to a civil restraint order, but this applies to the Court of Appeal only). The EAT on 15th March has upheld the Sheffield ET's rejection of a race discrimination claim he brought against Sheffield University (he was not shortlisted for a post because he not have the required qualification rather than because of his race).

However the EAT remitted his victimisation claim for rehearing because the tribunal had not been clear as to why it had rejected this claim.
