Doyle v Argyll and Bute Council - Parties' rights at a full hearing [2007] EAT
Mr Doyle brought a claim for constructive unfair dismissal against his employer the Council. The tribunal's notice of hearing advised him that he should bring his witnesses etc and listed the matter for two days. However at the start of the hearing (and without any prompting from the Council, who also had witnesses and evidence present and ready) the tribunal decided to discuss matters informally with Mr Doyle. They then simply refused his application. Mr Doyle appealed.
