Evans, Motture & Hutchins v Permacell Finess Ltd (In administration) - Amount of protective award on employer's failure to consult on mass redundancy [2007] EAT
An employer proposing to make redundant 20 or more employees at one establishment within a 90 day period has a statutory obligation to consult (TULRCA 1992 s.188). If it fails to do so, each relevant employee can be awarded a "protective award" of up to 90 days' pay by an Employment Tribunal.
