Fairmile Kindergarten v MacDonald - Anonymity issue in unfair dismissal case EAT
A nursery school employee was dismissed, allegedly for striking a child. When she brought unfair dismissal proceedings, the nursery school's solicitor, Ian Kennedy, promised anonymity to the child's parents. At a case management hearing, an employment tribunal chairman ordered disclosure of the identities of the parents and their child. The nursery school appealed to the EAT against this order and won - the interests of justice did not require disclosure of the names of the child or parents.
