Fariba v Pfizer Ltd & Ors - Strike out for scandalous, vexatious and unreasonable behaviour EAT
A classic example of unreasonable behaviour by a claimant leading - eventually - to the striking out of her claim.
Dr Fariba was, for a short time, a manager with Pfizer. She was absent following a fall at work and claimed that during her absence and on her return she was bullied; she raised two grievances, which were both dismissed, and 6 months after starting her job she was dismissed.
She claimed race and disability discrimination, and unfair dismissal due to whistle-blowing, at an employment tribunal. The history of what followed makes entertaining reading but is long and complex.
