Ford v Libra Fair Trades Ltd - Whether duties believed by employer to be contractual were in fact contractual is irrelevant to fairness of dismissal [2008] EAT

Libra was run by Mrs White, who also held extensive property portfolios. Her assistant Mrs Ford signed a job description including duties relating to the portfolios. Although she never said so, she believed that these (unlike tasks related to Libra) were not part of her duties relating to her job, but that she did them as a favour to Mrs White. Mrs White (who also never said so) believed otherwise.
