Gem Weld (UK) Ltd v Mitchell - Tribunal must give reasons for refusing review [2008] EAT

Mr & Mrs Mitchell were both dismissed, as redundant, from Gem. Mrs Mitchell claimed unfair dismissal and an employment tribunal found in her favour to a limited extent. gem failed to respond to Mr Mitchell's tribunal claim. As a result a finding of unfair dismissal was entered as judgment in default and the matter proceeded to a remedies hearing, where Gem were barred from participating.
