Governors of Lord Grey School v D Pavlou - Disability discrimination and establishing "long term effect" [2007] EAT

Head teacher Miss Pavlou claimed that her dismissal in November 2006 was disability discrimination. A tribunal considered, as a preliminary point, whether she was disabled within section 1 and Schedule 1 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. There was no dispute that Miss Pavlou suffered depression, but the key question was whether this had a "long-term effect". The chairman held that it did. The Governors appealed.
