Gravell v London Borough of Bexley - white woman complains of racist jokes offending blacks - 2.3.07
The EAT has allowed an appeal by a white woman, Ms Pat Gravell, who claimed that her former employer, Bexley Council, failed to tackle racist jokes against black people causing her distress, to the extent that it has remitted the case for rehearing. The original tribunal had struck out her claim, saying it had no reasonable prospect of success and that some of her arguments were "unlikely" to amount to harassment.
