William Freeman Ltd went into receivership. Employees were made redundant on various dates between 3rd and 26th May 2006. Owing to a lack of consultation the GMB obtained protective awards under TULR(C)A 1992 s189 from an employment tribunal for its members who were dismissed on or before 5th May 2006. The payments were met by the DTI out of the National Insurance Fund.
