Hunt v United Airlines Inc - No jurisdiction to hear unfair dismissal claim since air stewardess was not based in Great Britain  EAT
Ms Hunt (a USA national) worked as a stewardess, based in Paris, for American company United Airlines. She transferred to United's London base, but before she could ever actually move to or work from London she became ill. Her ill-health process, handled in the USA, ended in dismissal. She claimed unfair dismissal, but the Employment Tribunal held that it did not have jurisdiction to hear her claim. Ms Hunt appealed.
