Initial City Link v Turner - Inferences by tribunal must be based on solid evidence [2007] EAT
Courier company Initial City Link (ICL) dismissed Mr Turner when he refused to make a delivery as instructed. Other employees who had disobeyed instructions had only been given warnings. Given this, an employment tribunal found the dismissal was in fact due to Mr Turner's trade union activities and was therefore automatically unfair. ICL appealed.
