Janah v Libya - State Immunity and Jurisdiction

State immunity to domestic tribunal proceedings may be in breach of EU Charter.

A case before The Honourable Mr Justice Langstaff sitting alone on the point of whether a defence of State Immunity would curtail the employment complaints of a cook at the Sudanese Embassy and a domestic worker at the Libyan Embassy. Two prior tribunals had found that such claims were contrary to the State Immunity Act 1978.
