Johnson Matthey Plc v Watters - Re-engagement order confirmed [2006] EAT

The Bury St Edmunds Employment Tribunal found that Johnson Matthey's decision to dismiss Mr Watters was not within the range of responses that a reasonable employer might have taken in response to his breach of health and safety rules, given that the breach resulted from Mr Watters taking unauthorised action to overcome a previously reported problem in setting up the employer's machinery.
