Kew College Ltd v Parsley - Full indemnity costs award upheld  EAT
The London South Employment Tribunal awarded costs in favour of Mrs Parsley who had won £54,000 in an unfair constructive dismissal case against her former employer, Kew College. Unusually costs were awarded on a full indemnity basis (on the grounds that the College's response to the Mrs Parsley's claim was misconceived and that they acted unreasonably in resisting it). Mrs Parsley's costs were heavy - they exceeded £62,000 but the normal £10,000 limit did not apply as the tribunal ordered that the costs be assessed in a County Court. Kew College appealed.
