Lake v British Transport Police - Immunity of Police Complaints Board [2006] EAT

The EAT has ruled that proceedings of the Police Complaints Board (now the the Independent Police Complaints Commission) are immune from suit because it is quasi-judicial body, that this immunity covers not only procedural matters but also decisions of the Board and that Police Reform Act 2002 s.37 does not alter this in the case of an alleged ‘whistleblower’.
