Langford v Barking And Dagenham Primary Care Trust - allowing appeals by agreement? Only if the EAT agrees.

The EAT does not allow appeals and remission of cases simply because the parties agree that should be the outcome. The EAT will only do so if it is content to endorse that agreement on good grounds.

Mr Langford claimed unfair dismissal from his job with Barking & Dagenham PCT (now Legacy Unit at Department of Health on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health). He won in the Employment Tribunal, with the Employment Judge (EJ) finding a lack of proper investigation and procedural unfairness.
