Lewis v HSBC Bank Plc - Sexual orientation dismissal claim [2006] EAT

Earlier in 2006 the Stratford East employment tribunal heard claims by Peter Lewis, a senior trader who was dismissed 3 months after joining HSBC, that he had been unlawfully dismissed on the grounds of his sexual orientation.

The tribunal rejected that claim. However it found that he had been less favorably treated than a heterosexual employee would have been with respect to the initial investigation into his conduct.
