Lewisham Social Services & anor v Jackson - Reasonable adjustments and Disability Discrimination EAT
Lewisham Social Services went to considerable trouble to secure the services of Mr Jackson but after three weeks dismissed him for poor performance. He claimed race and disability discrimination. Unsurprisingly, given the trouble that Lewisham had gone to to secure his services, he lost the race related claim. However he won the disability claim on grounds that he had a heart condition and that Lewisham had failed to make reasonable adjustments in that there had been no "proactive consultation".
