Liu v Association of University Teachers - Review ordered but costs order also made [2007] EAT
Dr Liu had brought an unspecified claim against the Association of University Teachers, representing himself. He appealed to the EAT but did not attend the appeal hearing in March 2006 as he was ill. His appeal was dismissed. Eventually, following hearings in August, October 2006 and on February 2007 the EAT has allowed his application for there to be a review of the order dismissing his appeal. However the EAT has ordered him to pay £1,500 towards the Association of University Teachers' costs because of his unreasonable conduct.
