Macquet v Naiade Resorts (UK) Ltd - ET's judgment was deficient in not making clear the reasons for its main conclusions EAT
Employment Tribunal's judgment was deficient in not making clear the reasons for its main conclusions.
Mr Macquet was Marketing Communication Manager for Europe for Naiade Resorts, an international leisure resort company. There was clearly some friction between Mr Macquet and the Managing Director, particularly over the appointment of other senior staff whom, it appeared, might effectively be taking over his job. By December 2008 economic crisis was hitting the business, and Mr Macquet - who eventually raised a grievance against the MD - was placed at risk of redundancy: no other vacancies were identified for him and he was dismissed as redundant in 2009.
