Ochika v The Regard Partnership - Start date of employment for u/d purposes [2007] EAT

Ms Stella Ochika's employment ended on 11th April 2006. She wanted to claim unfair dismissal but a tribunal decided that her employment had begun on 8th May 2005, the date on which she actually started work, and that therefore she could not bring a claim as she had not completed the minimum one year period of continuous employment required by ERA 1996 s.108 as a precondition for bringing such a claim.
